On April 23, 2015, an unusually sunny afternoon was interrupted by the spectacular site of Calico Volcano erupting. I grabbed my camera and went to a hill near my home in Puerto Varas, Chile, capturing the red, fiery fumes over the town and Lake Llanquihue. It was like witnessing what an atomic bomb going off must look like.
