Volcanic landscape

The North side of mount Etna offers a complete vision of a typical volcanic landscape. Craters in the lowest part of the photo are quiet new (2002 eruption), infact they are darker than the rest of the field. In the middle of the frame an autumn forest broken by lava flows of many eruption during Etna's history. In the highest part the snow covers the summit area of the volcano. We can't forget that Etna is also one of the highest italian mountains (3350 meters above sea level of total altitude).
