Waiting

One night, I was walking up a street. I was trying to find a face for a portrait. I saw this girl sitting on a bench. She was looking down the street. It seemed like she was waiting for something or maybe somebody to arrive. I asked her if I could possibly take her photo. She didn't mind at all. She just wanted to have her photo. I stood a few feet away from her. Then, I crouched and looked at her through my viewfinder. She seemed really aloof from the busy crowd of cars on the street behind her. The empty paper cup with the teabag inside it were the only companions to her. I had to wait for the light coming from the cars to enlighten her face. I took just one photo of her. When I stood up she came to me and checked her photo on the camera's screen. She really liked it and gave me her number so I could send her the photo.
