The idol of Lord Shiva is worshipped at Ukhimath during the winter. In the month of May a procession is organised from Ukhimath and the idol is taken back to Madmaheshwar. It is a trek for two day through the forest of the Himalayas. The idol of Lord Shiva is carried in the palanquin of which yellow color stand clear against green and blue of the forest.
