Kalyani: By the Krishna temple in Hampi

Most south Indian temple complexes are accompanied by a waterbody. This water body or Kalyani sits beside the Krishna temple in Hampi (UNESCO world heritage site). Once one of the largest cities in the world, Hampi is now in ruins. The photograph shows what is left of the colonnade around the Kalyani. I love moments that remind me that nothing is permanent and that everyone and everything has to surrender to the passing time. That is the message I hope this image delivers.
