water buffalo head-spar for love
Kruger Park in South Africa abounds with life. We drive the narrow roadway that passes through the park. A herd of water buffalo suddenly blocks our safari van as they migrate to a new location. Two male buffalo teeming with energy begin to head-spar for dominance locking their horns back and forth as they twist and turn. Just as I take the photo, their eyes meet and their horns form a heart. A dorsal mane of hair stands on end to demonstrate further aggression. All lead to a remarkable photo.
