We had often drove Highway 16 west of Jasper, Alberta. This past fall we decided we would stop at Rearguard Falls as we had never taken the time to stop and walk down to the viewing area. We took a picnic lunch with us and sat and watched the water flowing over the rocks. I noticed the hydraulic action of the water among some of the rocks. The water was so clear and it was mesmerizing to sit and watch the action of the water.
