Water hyacinth in a lake in southern North Carolina
Entirely local, driving my hybrid car and exploring what's nearby but nevertheless fascinating. Sharing what I see with people in other places. This is a water hyacinth; native to Asia but now in the US and damaging the environment they invade, unless they are tightly controlled. One of the world's fastest growing species.
