Water kaleidoscope
This aerial shot of volcanic lakes was taken above Lakagigar area at the south-eastern part of Iceland from a small Cessna plane. Lakagígar is a row of craters extending to 25-30 km. They formed in the Laki eruption during 1783-84. It was one of the greatest and most terrible eruptions in Icelandic history. One-third of the population of Iceland died. But now it is a simply beautiful area, especially from above
