My friend had been telling me about a retention pond in a CVS parking lot near her home all summer. I finally made it down to see them in mid September fearing that I had missed their peak, but they were still blooming, and I was able to see the buds, the open blooms, and both green and brown pods! I never expected to see something so beautiful in an urban area!
