Water Logging

Many families live near the Torsha river of Cooch Behar, West Bengal , India. Whenever there is heavy rainfall, there is water logging and sometimes flood, due to the rise in river water level. Since every year, they have to face the same problem, so to overcome it to some extent they have come with an alternate temporary solution. Every house is built at a certain height and narrow bamboo bridges are built connecting the road and the houses ,so that communication is not completely broken during monsoon. In this image, an old woman named Fuleshwari Barman , 82 is seen coming from her house walking over the narrow bamboo bridge.
