Taken over Florida in a area known as Ten Thousand Islands. The photo was taken from a commercial airplane over the area as I was arriving for vacation near Ten Thousand Islands which in total is considered a 99 mile wilderness waterway. Ten Thousand Islands are a chain of islands and mangrove islets off the coast of southwest Florida. Seeing this wonderful waterway by air showed the true beauty, twists and turns of a living, flowing, biodiverse waterway. Later I was able to kayak a small part of this area to truly appreciate it from water level as well as from the air and learn of the importance to the Florida ecosystem.
