Waves crash on the rocks at Ho'okipa Lookout, Maui.
Just east and out of frame, surfers take advantage of the great conditions in the late afternoon sun on the coast of Maui...but here where it is too dangerous for hanging ten, waves simply crash over the lava rock, making a roaring sound that is somehow also peaceful.
