Waves crashing into the lava rock at Makena Beach, Maui.

Morning was the best time to visit this georgeous beach. Although the water is too rough to swim in, the mile- long beach was a perfect walk to take in views of the Molokini Crater, marine life in the lava rock tide pools, and of course an occasional sea turtle was spotted surfacing in the teal colored water.
