Our objective was to profile 3 of the 5 tribes across the state of Idaho. We’d meet and honor 6 artists, highlighting their work through photography and film. The tribes we visited were Shoshone-Bannok, Shoshone-Pauite, and Coeur d’Alene. The beauty of passing down ceremony and tradition radiated through the artwork of each of the tribal members. This project brought significance to my life, connecting with tribal members across Idaho. Re-establishing my roots on Nez Perce land, putting my feet in the river and knowing that this is where a very important part of me is from. Especially in these photos of Antoinette who is Coeur d'Alene and Nimiipuu (Nez Perce).
