Weathered fence double for human privacy and plant housing

Every day as we walk our 2 miles in the park behind our home, I watch this fence with interest. You would think that a fence is just a fence. Not THIS fence! This fence is truly seasonal. On this June morning around 8:00 am, the light emphasizes the lichen that call it home along with the vine that has been dormant during the winter but will soon again cover its host. As summer progresses, the white rose bush will peak through the cracks. What looks like "just a fence" has a seasonal story to tell.
