This is Sumur Gumuling, a popular attraction within the bowels of Taman Sari complex, in Yogyakarta. History has it that it once functioned as a mosque during the time of early sultanate of Yogayarta. These five stairs shown symbolizes the 5 pillars of Islam. It has meditation chambers throughout. Generally, it is a well, as the term sumur implies.
