I love this photo because it appears as if the bird's wing beats are so powerful that they have flattened the marsh grasses beneath them. I also love the sense of motion in this image, both the bird's motion and the grasses'. This shot was captured at a local park in Las Vegas, a true oasis in the dry desert.
