Wheat in the Storm

I took a wrong term and ended up surrounded by wheat fields. An early summer storm moved in bring arid wind. While trying to get my bearings, I saw the wheat that was ready for harvest. There was a lot of promises in the wheat. Farmers' lives depended on the harvest of winter wheat and could be easily destroyed by a bad harvest, fire, and hail.
