In the process of writing my book, "Abandoned Vehicles of New Hampshire: Rust In Peace, I accumulated thousand's of photographs of old cars & trucks. Every time I went out to shoot, it was with the feeling I was embarking on a great adventure and journey into America's past. It is incredibly inspiring to wander in peaceful silence among the relics and discover dramatic abstract compositions, along with unearthly combinations of color. Many are lying in various stages of decay that are both enhanced and softened by nature’s blanket, and it’s sometimes hard to discern where the mechanical ends and the organic begins. It was interesting to discover later on that this particular vehicle was a railway truck - the rims fit on the tracks!
