The duck was initially with other ducks on a lake. After following around the ducks, this duck went on a seperate path from the others. It connected to me because it reminded me of the time, in my teens, when I had to leave home from family to study abroad as a medical student. There is a daunting darkness that the sudden isolation brings in the form of having to be responsible for one's self emotionally and physically. But eventually the duck learns to be a lone wolf.
