White sakura

This photo was shot in Sho-ji / Hana no Tera (Temple of Flowers) in Oharano, last spring in Kyoto. Sakura (cherry blossoms) are the most famous flower in Japan, the symbol of springtime and of ephemeral beauty and ephemeral life. The Japanese adore it so much that they organize excursions and picnic to see hem in temples or in the countryside. That activity is called 'hanami' ('seeing the flowers', 'the flowers' referring to sakura).
