A White-tail deer and her fawn forage along the brackish water of a small estuary named Horsepen Bayou, on the outskirts of Houston, Texas. They stopped occasionally to nibble on the foliage. Although not obvious from the image, these are dangerous waters rampid with American Alligators as large as 12-14 feet long that could easily ambush even the doe without hesitation.
