13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Tower View
I climbed up the ski lift tower to its highest point in order to get this shot. I wanted to include the green trees and the clouds and in order to do so I took the picture using the portrait mode of my camera. It was a real challenge to hold the lens steady and hold onto the ski lift pole at the same time but somehow I was able to do so.
