18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Wild Cougar Kitten
This cougar and her mother were located outside of Yellowstone but within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem with a hounds man training his dogs. This was a once in a lifetime experience in which the cats were unarmed and left to the wild after a five minute photoshoot.
