18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Wild horses walking along the Assateague Island National Seashore.
Early one morning while visiting Assateague Island, my boyfriend and I were one of the first few to be on the beach. Along the shoreline in the distance we see a long line of horses calmly approaching. Simultaneously trotting with one another they made their way up the seashore.
