Winter Bliss

The majestic Lake Ohau was gripped by the clutches of a particularly stubborn cold spell, which brought the existence to a virtual standstill. There is no escape from the wrath of a Southern Hemisphere Winter in full swing, not in the Mackenzie Country, the home of exposed plains ringed by massive jagged mountains. And then, there was an unexpected break. The sun breached the curfew and thawed the lower parts of the land. Two friends, looking almost superimposed over the painting-like surroundings, are using this window of opportunity to spend a few hours on the perfectly still surface of the pristine alpine lake. In the background, Ben Ohau Ranges and their reflections are going to meet The Southern Alps somewhere in infinity, benefiting the entire experience.
