14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
winter robin

This robin was at my school last winter when I found him huddled on a branch that provided no protection. I believe he encompasses the natural world because often times, birds are photographed in the spring and summer months, but they are rarely sought after in the winter. It is in the winter that we really see the natural world they face when they don't migrate.
