Winter wind storm, Sitka
In S.E. Alaska we are in the ' largest temperate rainforest. As such, we don't get many forest fires. Instead, our major change agent is gale force winds. This shot, taken during a fall hike, exemplifies the snapping that occurs when the winds kick up.
