In my home town of Mount Prospect, Illinois, the winter of 2012 contained much beauty. While biking around during that season, I captured an unexpectedly interesting photograph of a bare tree, ravaged by the cold winds and temperatures. While rather boring to some, I think there's something fantastic about a tree with no leaves; it is expected that by springtime the healthy leaves will grow back, but it's always nice to appreciate beauty in all forms. Some consider this tree dead, uninteresting, and overall drab. When multiple perspectives are taken on something, from people to an object, it can be determined that something seemingly-dull can really have hidden attractiveness, as seen here within the tangled branches and off-white sky. I believe the message here is to look deeper into everyday occurrences, because it is never certain if they will look the same way ever again. It is also important to remain optimistic and look on the bright side of any given situation, even in times of dismal and unwavering defeat, because, like this tree, you may be surprised at how the simplest of things in life can bring joy and reassurance.
