I was very fortunate to capture the moment when a surfer wiped out north of Johnny Mercers Fishing Pier at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina just when his board shot straight up into the air. I love how the board is visible, but the rider is not. The waves create a dynamic and frothy scene around the lone surfboard.
