The saw mills in Maine have slowly been closing in one town after another. In a great big sprawling junk shop named Elmers Barn in Whitefield Maine, there is an artist who recycles old sawmill blades by carving intricate designs out of them using a blowtorch. My favorite was this Pegasus. It weighed about 70 pounds and we had a heck of a time wrestling it into the car.
