At a corner stop of our sightseeing tram, the Wizard of Christchurch (New Zealand) and his assistant got on. I don't know if that was supposed to be a part of the excursion or a wonderful coincidence. The tram tour took us around town to see all of the damage done by the earthquake in 2011 and all of the construction in progress to try and put the city back together. Ian Brackenbury Channell was born in 1932 and has been an educator, a comedian, a magician and a political activist. A movie has been made about his life and a book has been written. He holds the title Official Wizard by government appointment.
