21st Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
Woman hiding in grief

Grief is one of the most complex emotions a person can experience. Usually separated from the outside world, the affected person tries not to lose themself completely in grief. Mostly with little success. At the same time, grief envelops you like a veil. Life becomes secondary, the mind is reduced to the most basic. And while being disconnected seems a hindrance at first, it helps to find oneself again to a certain extent. Loss changes a person. Most of the time, an altered person steps out of it.
