Woman power

This image were captured in the bordering areas of West Bengal . The lifestyle of the people in this area contrasts strongly with that in other parts of India. Many men here are jobless and addicted to Country liquor or Mohul. The women have come forward with traditional fishing forms, formed self-help groups, made fishing nets, and they are now earning their livelihood by selling fish in village markets. They are sending their children to school. In a remarkable example of women empowering themselves, they are transforming the region. Jan.2019
