Assi ghat is one of the cleanest and most beautiful ghats in Varanasi, India. A "ghat" in Indian languages means steps or stairs on river bank that go into the river for certain lengths to enable the pilgrims take holy dips / bath in the river. Women in colorful sarees gathered in the morning at Assighat to perform Hindu rituals.
