Women during Ashura ceremony
Ashura is one of the main holidays for Shia muslims and widely celebrated in Iran. People commemorate the death of imam Husain and his followers who were killed in the battle of Kerbela in 680 AD. Usually men are more active participants of the ceremony. Woman are placed around the main festival spot and watching the mourning and performing.
