This is front entrance to the old Wyoming Frontier Prison (aka: Wyoming State Penitentiary), located in Rawlins, Wyoming, USA It opened in 1901 and had no heat (Wyoming winters!), no running water, and no electricity. This photo shows the front entry of the prison. The otherwise beautiful Gothic-styled architecture of the entire building contrasts with the barred entryway and windows -- and a sense of the macabre sets in.
