Yamal Peninsula
The Nenets are reindeer herders and their way of life is to migrate all year round, following their reindeer herd looking for food. Despite the hard weather conditions (in winter the temperature can reach -50 ° C), most of the activities are carried out outside the tent, called the “chum”. Dogs are very important part of theri live because they help the nenets to keep the reindeer together during migration.
