I Photographed this bull bison in Yellowstone in January of 2020, it was well below zero and snowing hard. As I sat there and watched him pushing feet of snow away for the sparse grass below, he finally turned and gave me a very snow encapsulated face. Later in the year during autumn I made my way creekside at Sheep Eater Cliff, also in Yellowstone to catch an incredible sunrise. In my den I had a print of the January bison, when I retuned home I was looking at my October photographs and loved the Sheepeater Cliff sunrise. It struck me, that the winter Bison should have the warm sunrise as a promise the spring will bring warm days and green grass until late Autumn again.
