Young Cooper Hawk with his prey
There were four cooper hawks born in a tree near by. I watched them grow up from the nest to out hunting. This juvenile caught his prey and landed low in a tree near by. I took some pictures from my front porch. This is one of my favorites due to the eyes. Look close one eye is regular and the other has a transparent eyelid (nicitating membrane).
