Young Girls, Old Mayan Pyramids
After breakfast on day 5 of our three week trip, we transferred to Tikal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, perhaps the most remarkable of all classic Mayan cities. The civilization reigned from 300 to 900 AD. The city is nestled in Tikal National Park and it is difficult to determine which is more impressive, the accomplishments of man that you can see in the distance or the surrounding nature. The young girls who were sitting in front of me on the top of one of the man made structures were having that very same discussion.
