Young Man from the Mursi Tribe, Omo Valley
This man from the Mursi tribe in the Omo Valley, Ethiopia, has scar patterns on his upper arms which are deliberately created as a means of beautification. Razor blades are used to cut the skin and ash applied to the open cuts to create an infection which will cause the scars to form.
