Young Sick Bacchus (2019)

Caravaggio’s masterpiece, Young Sick Bacchus (1593), inspired this performance and photographic artwork. To embody Bacchus – the Roman god of festivities, indulgence, and wine - I drank an immense amount of alcohol before and during the photoshoot. This self-portrait depicts contemporary views of recreational drug use, as well as my tendency to overindulge in substances and the mental and physical effects that follow.
