In 2015, I took a six-month sabbatical to travel through Europe, learn French, and study art and history. I stayed in 12 countries as far ranging as Ireland, Finland, Greece, and Spain. As I rambled through southern Spain, my goal was to visit the Alhambra in Granada. Fascinated by the Moorish history in Spain, it was a must see. The palace and fortress stand stoically amid the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and its grand architecture as well as perfectly interconnected tile work wowed the art and history lover in me.
