Zubr in the Mist: A Caveman's View

This must have been a caveman’s view of the world. Altamira and Chauvet have both stood the test of time to testify that. Early modern humans built a special connection with the giants of the mammoth steppe. Millennia later, Europe’s dark forests still hide primeval characters. A mature bull European bison at the beginning of his prime disappears in the mist, fading away with the first rays of light. The ingredients could hardly have been any better: frosty autumn grass, just below zero degrees Celsius and a fairy-tale mist enhanced by the dramatic pre-sunrise colours.
